Luke 6:46-49
46 "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you? 47 Every one who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid the foundation upon rock; and when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 But he who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great."

A great verse to point out Jesus did encouraged us to act, not only encouraged almost required us to act. We believe that our salvation doesn't come from our actions, a normal idea in our time, yet hard for us to really grasp. However the major religions at the time (and Christianity later in History) taught salvation was attained through your actions. You needed to be a rightous person and keep the laws. Jesus taught that he came to bring salvation to all. However this does not excuse us from living a godly life and doing what we please. As Jesus points out here, a person who has their foundation built in God will act on his teachings, things such as Matthew 25, the story of helping those sick, hungry, and in prison because they are Christ also. If we simply hear the words of God and do not ACT upon hearing it, what we believe will fall apart like a house without a foundation.

So a good get to know you question if anyone is interested in getting to know each other better. . .
~If you could set your own schedule what time would you get up in the morning?
God Bless!

I think I would get up no earlier than 10AM. 11:00 wouldn't be bad either. I'm very much a night owl, and accomplish much more during the wee-hours. :o) --holly
